Spring into Cheerleading this Easter with an exciting one-day camp at Cricklade Manor Prep in association with Cirencester Elite Cheer & Dance Academy for children ages 6 – 14
What to Expect
Learn the foundations of cheerleading at an exciting new day camp led by coaches from Cirencester Elite Cheer and Dance Academy. Develop new skills, grow confidence and showcase all that you have learnt in a short routine. A fun and rewarding high energy camp where you’ll learn new skills and make new friendships, all whilst under the expert guidance of Chrissie, lead coach at Cirencester Elite Cheer and Dance Academy.
Across the day, Discovers will explore cheerleading lifts and stunts, gymnastic skills and pom dance, working together to create a routine that showcases everything they have learnt.
With a strong focus on transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership and confidence, Discover Cheerleading is an exciting new addition to the Discover Camps family of specialist sports camps.
Discovers can expect the following from the Discover Cheerleading day:
Warm-Up & Team Building
- Fun cardio warm-up and stretching
- Ice-breaker games and team challenges
- Focus on communication, trust and working together
Skill Development
- Cheerleading stunts and lifts (learning safe technique, spotting, and teamwork)
- Gymnastics skills (such as rolls, balances, jumps and tumbling)
- Pom dance (learning rhythm, sharp motions and choreography)
Developing a Cheerleading Routine
- Learning counts, formations, and transitions
- Combining stunts, dance and gymnastics into a group routine
- Encouraging creativity, confidence and performance skills
Cool Down & Reflection
- Stretching and recovery
- Group reflection on teamwork and progress
- Positive feedback and goal setting for the next camp
Final Showcase
Discover Cheerleading culminates in an exciting showcase when Discovers will take to the floor to share their creativity, skills and teamwork. A brilliant end to a fantastic day!
